Dinghy Dock Pub (Protection Island)
49° 10.6′ N · 123° 55.6′ W
A floating pub moored off Protection Island in Nanaimo harbour, running since 1989 and billed as Canada's only registered floating pub. Boaters tie up alongside for a meal with a view of the harbour.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM pub outline. Moorage for diners is first come, first served and limited (one dock was under repair in 2026); dinghies and kayaks have their own floats closer to shore. Usually closes from late December to mid-March; in autumn 2026 it was open Friday to Sunday, 11:30 am to 9 pm, with the last day of the season on November 8, 2026. A small cash-only ferry runs from Nanaimo harbour year-round. Mark Bay buoys are a short dinghy ride away.
