The beachfront village of Port Barton covers a cruiser's basics: fuel stations, a beach water hose, laundry, small grocery stores, ATMs, a pharmacy and a clinic, all within a few minutes' walk of the dinghy landing.
Practical
Fuel: Caltex and Petron stations in the village (OpenStreetMap); jerry-can it to the beach. Water: hose on the beach next to the Jambalaya Cafe. Laundry close to the cafe (SEAP). Essential provisions in the village; stock up properly in Puerto Princesa. Money: two ATMs as of 2019, max PHP 10,000 per withdrawal with a PHP 250 fee (Wikivoyage; verify locally); bring cash. Health: Isla Care clinic, a barangay health station and Portbay Pharmacy; nearest hospital is in Puerto Princesa (about 3 hours by road). Internet: Starlink-based WiFi at some cafes; Globe has the stronger signal (Wikivoyage). Randy's Bakeshop for bread. Daily vans to Puerto Princesa (about 3 hours, about PHP 350) and El Nido; a morning boat to San Vicente about 8:00 am (Wikivoyage).
