Kasadyaan Festival (Coron Town Fiesta)

11° 59.8′ N · 120° 12.1′ E · approximate

Coron town's fiesta for its patron San Agustin, when blue-clad street dancers drum through town and processions fill the streets.

Practical

Position approx: the Coron town waterfront (Luwalhati Park, as in the town restaurants entry). Wikipedia: town fiesta held annually on August 28 in honour of Saint Augustine. TripBase: Kasadyaan (from Cuyonon 'sadya', to make merry) runs in August around the feast, with street dancing, processions and food stalls. A 2009 visitor found parades being rehearsed all over town a week before the fiesta. Expect a crowded waterfront, closed streets and fireworks noise; good time to be in town but book ahead. Dates shift each year: check with the Coron tourism office.
