Rainbow Falls

19° 43.2′ N · 155° 6.6′ W

Waianuenue, an 80-foot plunge of the Wailuku River over a lava cave said to be the home of the goddess Hina, in Wailuku River State Park on the edge of town.

Practical

On sunny mornings around 10 am rainbows form in the mist - hence the name. View from the platform; the walk toward the cave is rough and slippery. A giant banyan stands on the path to the top of the falls.
