Taha'a's gendarmerie brigade and the commune's town hall (Mairie de Patio) are both in Patio, the island capital. Go here for police matters, lost papers and official notices, including the posted anchoring decree.

Gendarmerie nationale at -16.58312,-151.49467 and Mairie de Patio at -16.58355,-151.49656 (OpenStreetMap); there is a municipal police post next to the town hall, and a police node in Haamene. Taha'a is not a port of entry: yachts arriving from abroad clear in at Uturoa (Raiatea) or another Society Islands port. Raiatea gendarmerie clearance now runs through the online system, and approval can take 1–3 days (Noonsite cruiser report, Sept 2025). The decree requires the arrêté and its annexes to be displayed at the town hall. Emergency numbers: 17 police, 15 ambulance, 18 fire, 16 sea rescue (also VHF 16).
