Pahua Bridge (Mataiva)
14° 52.0′ S · 148° 42.5′ W
A 120 m concrete bridge over the pass linking the two halves of Pahua, billed as the longest bridge in French Polynesia and a favourite spot to watch the lagoon pour out to sea.
Practical
Coordinate from the Tahiti Heritage map pin. A wooden footbridge was built in 1955, replaced by a small concrete bridge and then rebuilt as a full bridge in 2000; northern swells have washed it away several times, notably on January 30, 1998 (Tahiti Heritage). Tahiti Heritage gives 120 m; Wikipedia gives 110 m. Used on foot, by bike and by 4x4.
Best for
A short walk and a view down the pass
