Omoa Fish Petroglyph
10° 30.9′ S · 138° 40.7′ W
On a boulder above Omoa, the 'paoa' is one of the largest petroglyphs in the Marquesas: a huge fish, said to be a tuna, carved into the rock among smaller human figures.
Practical
Coordinate from OpenStreetMap ('Pétroglyphes', above the village). PG Cruises describes the paoa as 'a huge tuna fish carved into the rock' and runs guided petroglyph hikes. Ask in the village for the path. Do not chalk, scrape or stand on the carvings.
