Vela Spila Cave (Vela Luka)

A huge cave on the hill above Vela Luka, lived in on and off since about 20,000 BC and one of the key prehistoric sites in Europe. The walk up gives a wide view over the bay.

A steep walk or short taxi ride from the town front. Digs are still going on; check opening hours locally.
