Split Harbour Master's Office (Lučka kapetanija Split)

43° 30.4′ N · 16° 26.4′ E

The harbour master for the whole Split area, on the city waterfront near the ferry port. Branch offices in Trogir, Milna, Supetar, Hvar, Stari Grad and Jelsa answer to it. This is the office that sets and polices local anchoring bans and removes illegal buoys.

Practical

Position is the OSM building for Lučka kapetanija Split (way 125506959). Tel/fax +385 21 302 400; VHF 10 and 16 (per ACI). Croatia tightened its rules in April 2025: no anchoring within 150 m of natural beaches; boats 15-30 m long must keep at least 150 m off the coast, and boats under 15 m at least 50 m while underway; nothing (boat plus anchor, chain or lines) may reach more than 50 m from the shore when moored; a tender may only work within 500 m of its mother ship except when running to the nearest mooring; SUPs and similar craft only between sunrise and sunset, within 300 m of shore and outside swim zones. Harbour masters can add local bans at any time. In 2017 this office removed 138 unlicensed buoys from 17 bays, so only use buoys from a licensed concession.
