Marjan hill & Prva Vidilica viewpoint (Split)

43° 30.5′ N · 16° 25.8′ E

A pine-covered hill park that fills the whole west end of the Split peninsula, protected since 1964. Paths and stone steps climb from the Varoš quarter to the first viewpoint, with a view over the harbour, the old town and the islands. Paths carry on to the 178 m top and to small churches on the south side.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM viewpoint node 'Prva vidilica' (node 850150112). The first viewpoint is a short climb from the west end of the Riva; the summit cross is a longer walk on park paths. A 19 m observation deck opened on the second peak in 2024. Carry water in summer. Kašjuni and Bene beaches lie at the foot of the hill on the south and north sides.

Best for

A sunset walk with a view of the harbour

Season

All year; cooler mornings and evenings in summer
