Palmižana / Vinogradišće Bay anchorage (Sveti Klement)

43° 9.4′ N · 16° 23.4′ E

The long, narrow inlet on the south side of Sveti Klement, a short walk across the island from the marina. Clear water over sand and a row of restaurants make it one of the busiest anchorages in Croatia.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay node 'Uvala Vinogradišće'. Depths about 3-10 m over sand and weed, shoaling toward the beach at the head. Sheltered from every direction except the south. Much of the bay is a leased, staffed buoy field of around 40 buoys; restaurant buoys usually come with the expectation that you eat ashore. Where there is room to anchor, take a stern line ashore: the bay is too narrow to swing. Full by early afternoon from late June to the end of August; come in late May, June or September for space. Buoy field contacts: +385 91 617 5510 or +385 91 171 8242. Taxi boats to Hvar Town. Watch for tenders and yachts manoeuvring close inshore.

Best for

Swim, dinner ashore and a taxi boat to Hvar
