Šćedro - Lovišće Bay

43° 5.8′ N · 16° 42.0′ E

A half-mile bay with four narrow arms on the north side of Šćedro, a protected, nearly undeveloped island off Hvar's south coast. Family konobas open in season and the island has no grid power, no shop and no public water.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay node 'Luka Lovišće'. Anchor in 7-10 m, mostly sand with seagrass patches, or pick up a buoy; restaurant buoys are mainly for guests, so agree dinner and any fee first. Good all-round shelter, but a strong bura (NE) blows in: check the forecast before staying. Often the only real shelter between Hvar and Korčula. Rats use stern lines to board boats: thread a cut-off bottle on the line as a guard. Bring your own water and food. Illegal buoys here were removed by the harbour master in 2017.

Best for

A remote, sheltered night between Hvar and Korčula
