Mir Bay (Telašćica)

43° 53.5′ N · 15° 9.5′ E

The most popular stop in Telašćica, on the narrow strip of land that separates the bay from the open sea. Moor here to walk to the salt lake and the great cliffs. It is one of the safest bays in Croatia in a bura.

Practical

Coordinate is the bay (OSM node 1293150298). The park's largest buoy field is here (about 45 buoys; other sources say about 30), in depths of roughly 12-15 m. Buoys are free with a park ticket. Dinghy dock at the head of the bay and a couple of restaurants ashore. A market boat (Toni) does the rounds of the bays in high season. No fuel, marina or supermarket in Telašćica; Sali is about 1.5 hours away on foot. Anchoring is restricted to designated bays. Busy with day boats from late morning; quieter in late afternoon.
