Cupid's Cay South Anchorage (old mooring blocks)

25° 11.4′ N · 76° 14.8′ W

The pocket between Cupid's Cay and Laughing Bird Cay, south of the causeway, with two massive old ship-mooring blocks on the bottom and a short walk to town.

Practical

Position from the ActiveCaptain 'Cupid Laughing (moorings)' marker. Enter straight from the Bight in charted deep water. Two large mooring blocks with heavy chain lie here; in 2012 a cruiser marked them with yellow jugs and improved the connections, but in 2019 a boat found them unbuoyed. Use them only after diving to inspect, at your own risk. A 2019 boat found good holding at the first try north-west of Laughing Bird Cay after failing to the east-north-east of it. Guides also suggest the north-east corner of the cove on the south side of Cupid's Cay when the main harbour won't hold. Friday fish fry music carries across.
