Hawksbill Cays Anchorage

A small group of cays off the north shore of Little Abaco, near Fox Town. The anchorage on the north-east side gives a south-wind alternative to Allans-Pensacola, with reef fish around the rock islets.

Practical

ActiveCaptain position (Hawksbill NE). Good for south-east to south-west winds; reportedly calmer than the south coasts of Allans, Umbrella or Pensacola in those winds. Easy direct approach from the channel; anchor set easily in 5 m (16 ft) in 2017. No pet access ashore. Snorkel the rock islets close by for parrotfish and angelfish; small jellyfish were present but didn't sting (2017). Very good BTC signal from Fox Town. Pre-Dorian reports.
